Nigerians continue to thrill the world in engineering, tech, science, medicine, politics and other fields, this time, it is Nigerian-Born Uk-Based Olaolu Slawn who has made history as he becomes First Nigerian Creative To Design Nike Sneakers Line.

Displaying streetwise wit and finesse in creativity, Slawn breathes a new life into the AIR MAX 90 which he transformed into a eye catchy canvas.

In a tribute posted on his social media, Olaolu said, ‘I dedicate this one to my fellow Nigerians. You don’t have to be born overseas to achieve such. I’m born in Nigeria and grew up in Onikan, Lagos. I still have the same green passport, everything is possible.”

With utmost apt and close attentiveness to the rich history, culture of England and the streets of London, the Nigerian-Born creative made the AIR MAX 90-turned-canvas a masterpiece.

Slawn’s design, from his paint-speckled black and white colorways, echoing his graffiti roots, to the defiant stares of his cartoonish figures embossed on the heel, every detail tells a story and illustrates his creativity, originality, visual communication sense, aesthetics prowess and unique fashion.

The Air Max 90 ‘Speckle’ collection was first available at a London pop-up on March 1, 2025. The collection would be available globally in April 2025
