The road to another successful box-office year has received a boost with announcement of the release of King of Boys 3 by leading Nollywood Director, Kemi Adetiba.
‘King of Boys’ is a Nigerian political thriller released in 2018 and became a cultural phenomenon in Nigeria and beyond. It tells the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a powerful businesswoman and philanthropist with political ambitions, played by Sola Sobowale.
Announcing her latest offering, Adetiba posted on her Instagram page, accompanied by a short video.
She wrote:”KOB Army, arise. It’s time we move. Signed, your general. #KOB3 #TheBeginningOfTheEnd #DettyDecember25 #KAV25″
”King of Boys- The Biginning of The End” will premiere on December 25, 2025.
Following the success of the projects such as Everybody Loves Jenifa, Lisabi, Beast of Two Worlds, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Thin Line and other phenomenal movies in 2024, fans and movie enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the third instalment of the movie, King of Boys, which had debuted in 2018.
With the profound anticipation that Kemi Adetiba has built around King of Boys Season 3, there are strong indications that it will do better and surpass her own box-office records.
Everybody Loves Jenifa by Funke Akindele reached ₦1 billion at the Nigerian box office within 19 days of release, becoming the fastest Nollywood title to reach this milestone. It’s currently number one of the list of Highest Grossing Nigerian movies.
In her cinema debut in 2018, King of Boys grossed ₦ 200 million after 7 weeks in cinemas and ₦245 million overall. It currently ranks number 19 on the list of Highest Grossing Nigerian movies.
